HBA BOSTON-CAMBRIDGE METRO PRESENTS

The Orchestra: Leadership and Collaboration in Organizations

An orchestra can be electrifying when everyone is playing in harmony but just one person playing out of tune ruins the performance for musicians and audience alike. Ensemble performances provide a powerful analogy to the essential leadership skills entrepreneurs and employees must cultivate. A symphony orchestra is a real-world example of teamwork, collaboration, discipline, learning, role clarity, execution and true leadership in action between the conductor (leader) and musicians (team).

Join us for an interactive event with the Kendall Square Orchestra that explores leadership, collaboration, diversity and creativity through the metaphor of music. We will use exercises that facilitate a discussion between the participants, conductor and musicians about how playing in an orchestra mirrors a business environment. Some participants will also have a chance to try out conducting an orchestra and receive immediate feedback on their leadership style.

Please note that HCP's cannot partake in food or beverage.
