HBA SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA PRESENTS

HBA Supper Club: How to Lead Through Change with Tanja Powers

This event has reached capacity and is now offering a wait list registration. This wait list does not confirm your attendance. In the event that a registrant cancels their attendance for this event, you will be notified by the chapter representative for the HBA dinner program via email. The wait list is managed on a first-come, first-served basis. Any participant who is moved from the wait list to a confirmed attendee will still be responsible for their event costs, which will be administered by the chapter at the time of the event.

Please join Tanja Powers for a discussion on managing and leading through change at both work and home. Share examples of what works and what doesn't in the quest to embrace, rather than dread change.

Tanja Powers was recently promoted to vice president and is the new squad leader for ophthalmology within the commercial medical government (CMG) organization. Tanja spent the past four years as the senior director of managed care marketing, establishing an even deeper expertise in access. She is known as a passionate advocate and mentor, not only for her team, but for numerous individuals across Genentech. Since September, Tanja has been an integral member of the transformation team, advancing the US leadership team's thinking on agile ways of working and co-leading the access and marketing work streams. Tanja has been with the company since 2006 in a variety of sales and marketing leadership roles within managed care and the Pegasys/HCV brand. Prior to 2006, she spent 15 years at TAP Pharmaceuticals, advancing from sales representative to director of national accounts. She is known for her inclusive leadership style, collaboration, change management and strategic thinking skills.

Tanja was just awarded the PBWC Industry Leader Award for Diversity and Inclusion, recognizing her passion and the work she's done for D&I. She serves as co-chair of Genentech’s women professional organization and is both a member and past board member of HBA. She received her MBA from Lake Forest Graduate School and her undergraduate degree from the University of Illinois. Outside of work, Tanja enjoys yoga, hiking, travel and any time she can get with her busy kids Alex (24) and Katee (22).

Registration fee covers administrative and chapter costs. Participants are responsible for their food and beverage costs. Out of respect for your fellow diners, please do your best to arrive on time.
