Webinar - Career Conversation 14: Negotiation Skills: Influencing and Negotiating for Women

Please note this webinar will take place from 12:00 – 1:15 PM ET. Please convert into your local time zone and mark your calendar accordingly.

For a woman in business, professional success and getting to the next level is often more about their influencing and negotiating skills than about their technical expertise. The objective of this session is to help participants think differently about influencing and negotiating. Whether seeking a promotion, obtaining needed resources, getting sought after assignments or creating partnerships with others, influencing and negotiating skills are critical.

The HBA is pleased to welcome negotiation and conflict communication expert Israela Brill-Cass to the conversation. Israela has over 20 years of experience as an attorney, mediator, facilitator, trainer and consultant. Her company, fixerrr (the three r’s for rethink, respond and resolve), seeks to help individuals, groups and organizations recognize their strengths, assess their options and gain the tools they need to succeed. Israela was recognized as a New England Super Lawyer, a list published annually by Boston Magazine and Thompson-Reuters of lawyers viewed by their peers as being in the top 5% of the profession, and named one of the Top Women Attorneys in Massachusetts, in 2013 and 2016. She teaches negotiation (including culture and gender in salary negotiation) for a number of public and private sector institutions, and is a cum laude graduate of both Brandeis University and Suffolk University Law School.

Providing an executive lens to this discussion is Brianne Weingarten, head of alliance management, licensing and business development at Purdue Pharma L.P. Brianne is a skilled negotiator with a proven track record and demonstrated ability of alliance management resulting in successful global collaborations within her organization.

Moderating the conversation is Anne Camille Talley, a highly regarded consultant active in the areas of market research project design and execution to speaking engagements and creating programs that drive behavior change throughout organizations and populations. She holds the distinction of being a principal author or co-author of all the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association’s four major published studies of how people advance healthcare careers and build leadership skills. Anne Camille served two terms on the HBA global board and helped create the Career Conversations webinar series. Anne Camille was honored with the 2008 HBA STAR (Strategic Transformation Achievement Recognition) award.
