* Dr. LaPortia Smith, MD, MPH, FACOG – Texas Children’s Hospital and Assistant Professor, Baylor College of Medicine
Dr. LaPortia Smith, MD, MPH, FACOG is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist at Texas Children’s Hospital and an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baylor College of Medicine. With expertise in maternal health, reproductive medicine, and clinical innovation, Dr. Smith is committed to advancing equitable care for women and families. She combines her medical training with a Master of Public Health to address systemic challenges in healthcare and improve outcomes for underserved communities. In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Smith contributes to research, education, and mentorship, inspiring the next generation of physicians.

* Jay Indrakumar, CIO – Brain Balance
Innovative and results-driven digital executive with a strong track record of leading and scaling technology-driven transformation in healthcare. Ryan Hawkins is the Co-Founder and Co-CEO of TransferAI, an Austin-based company using artificial intelligence to accelerate biopharma operations. With over 25 years of experience building and scaling life science companies, Ryan is a seasoned builder and operator with deep expertise in Technical Operations, including manufacturing, supply chain, quality systems, and facility infrastructure. Throughout his career, he has worked at the intersection of technology, innovation, and life sciences, most recently applying AI to unlock efficiencies in technical workflows. He has supported the advancement and commercialization of complex therapeutics by leading the teams responsible for producing them on the behalf of biopharma innovators. Gans is also deeply involved in the community and has been involved in the cause of libraries throughout his life. He was on the board of The Dallas Library Friends and is currently a Treasure member of the Plano Library Friends. In his spare time, he is avid collector of books and fountain pens.

Lunch will be provided. Advanced registration required. The conference center is located on the 2nd Floor behind Jo's Coffee Shop. All attendees will park on the level 2 or above of the parking garage and use the sky bridge to walk to the hospital, entering on Floor 2.
