HBA NEW ENGLAND REGION AND HBA METRO WEST MA PRESENTS

The Women’s Leadership Gap: Climbing Beyond the Broken Rung in the Career Ladder

Please join HBA New England, Women in Science Affinity Group in collaboration with the Waltham Chapter and moderated by Melissa Steidler, Associate Director, Pharmacovigilance Operations at Entasis Therapeutics, for an engaging virtual panel discussion. We will be featuring highly accomplished women in the science and pharmaceutical space who have climbed beyond the 'broken rung' in their career ladders and excelled into leadership positions.

While women make up half of the professional workforce, only 29% of senior and executive level positions and a mere 6% of CEO roles are held by women (source: Catalyst, 2020). Despite early career growth that parallels that of male counterparts, few women ascend into the top tiers of corporate leadership. This phenomenon is the women's leadership gap and it is demonstrated across industries. But why? And how do women in science and biopharma overcome this gap to advance their careers?
