Join Us for the 3rd Annual STEM Careers Event at ISL!

Theme: "Partnership between Men and Women in STEM Careers to Foster Innovation"

To celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, we’re hosting our 3rd STEM Careers Event on February 12, 2025, at the International School of Lausanne. This event, backed by ISL’s student volunteers, brings together inspiring STEM role models to ignite interest in science and innovation.

The UN's 2024 Call to Action underscores the need for multi-stakeholder efforts to break down gender stereotypes, create pathways for young girls in STEM, and develop supportive workplaces for women in science. Although women remain underrepresented in STEM (fewer than 20% of Swiss STEM professors and only 22% of professionals across the OECD), this event aims to change that by highlighting the impact of gender partnership in innovation.

Event Highlights:
Welcome & Keynote Panel – "Inspiring STEM Journeys" where speakers share stories of breaking barriers and thriving in STEM careers.
Interactive STEM Workshops – Students (ages 12 -18) will engage in hands-on sessions with topics like:
Artificial Intelligence & Ethics
Cybersecurity
Climate Science
Space Exploration
Biomedical Engineering

Interactive booths from Laboratory of Astrophysics (LASTRO) - Astrobots Group, Neuroengineering Laboratory with Dr. Ramdya's Team, Atinary, Mynerva, Wearable Wearable neuro-robotic technology for diabetic neuropathy, Nespresso, and Motion Lab!

Speed Networking: "Meet Your Future Self" – Quick, meaningful interactions with STEM professionals offer students real-world career insights.

Parents are welcome to stay for parents' networking event which will be happening in parallel.

Closing Session: "The Future is Yours in STEM" – An empowering message to envision a career in science.

Additional features include a Photo Wall for messages like "Why I Love STEM" and bilingual stickers to support language preferences.

Don’t miss this chance to foster innovation through partnership!
