11th Annual WIB/HBA Event: Women’s Health: The intersection of gender parity and health equity

Empowering Women through Health, Voting Rights, and Equity.
This panel discussion aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the importance of women’s health, voting rights, and gender and health equity, while also inspiring participants to advocate for these critical issues in their communities.
(1) Women’s Health: Key health issues affecting women (e.g., reproductive health, mental health, chronic diseases). The role of preventive care and access to healthcare services. Barriers to healthcare and strategies to overcome them.
(2)Voting Rights: Recognize the significance of women’s voting rights and their impact on policy and society. Historical context of women’s suffrage movements. Current challenges and barriers to women’s full participation in the electoral process. The influence of women voters on public policy and gender equity.
(3)Gender and Health Equity: Promote understanding of gender and health equity and encourage advocacy for systemic change. Definitions and concepts of gender equity and health equity. The impact of gender disparities on health outcomes. Successful strategies and initiatives for promoting equity in various sectors.

  1. Discuss the importance of women’s health, voting rights, and gender and health equity.
  2. Provide diverse perspectives from experts in healthcare, policy, and advocacy.
  3. Inspire participants to take action in their communities to promote these crucial issues.
