HBA OLD GREATER PHILADELPHIA PRESENTS

Fit to Lead Six-Month Journey

Many of us are inspired by stories of athletic pursuits that translate into lessons of leadership. Come discover the connection between fitness and leadership and how can it help you in your professional lives.

The Fit to Lead journey is an exciting way to develop leadership competencies in yourself through physical fitness. The six-month program is a series of 12 guided virtual workshops (two per month) with guest leadership experts and fitness/wellness coaches; local monthly group workouts and peer support provide a venue where you can achieve advances in your health and career that you might not have thought were possible. Throughout your journey, you will discover these connections, grow as a leader to advance your career and expand your network with like-minded women.

How it works
Virtual workshops (two each month):
The virtual workshops will include one call led by Ashley Tappen and Kari Gearhart. This first call held each month throughout the six-month journey will include other HBA chapters who are also participating in the program, giving you the opportunity to connect and share this experience with a diverse set of like-minded HBA members.

Ashley and Kari have been leading the successful Fit to Lead journey for HBA Greater Philadelphia for several years. They will bring their expertise, passion and experience in making the connection between fitness and leadership to each session. The second call each month will be led by one to two other Fit to Lead journey leaders who will facilitate group discussions on the application of the leadership topic covered in the earlier call and guidance on training for your fitness challenge. These leaders will also be organizing the team meet-ups and workouts each month.

The fitness challenge will include two options:
1. Multi-sport challenge - a “sprint triathlon” (swim, bike and run), “aquabike” (swim, bike) or “duathlon” (run, bike, run)
- or -
2. Individual challenge - If you choose not to participate in the multi-sport challenge, you will be asked to identify a fitness event that presents an athletic stretch goal. The Fit to lead journey leaders will guide you on the selection to make sure you have the opportunity to experience the transformational nature of this program

Agenda
- Two teleconference calls (national call and regional call) per month (on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of the month, 8:00 - 9:00 PM) from 14 March, 2017 - August 2017
