HBA HOUSTON PRESENTS

Driving Conversations that Impact your Career

Join HBA Houston for a conversation with Scott Tinkel, Director, Field Leader Development at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, Inc. about driving career conversations. Career conversations are set of conversations designed to guide the future of an individual’s working life. These conversations help individuals discover the general direction in which they want to go and have the power to make them feel more satisfied in their role, regardless of their aspirations.

Most important, individuals own their development/careers and must play an active role in initiating and driving ongoing career conversations. In a career conversation, it's important that the individual define success, not others. Success means different things to different people.

To prepare for your career conversations, there are 3 critical questions you need to answer.
What Energizes You: What are your passions, strengths, and interests?
What Are Your Career Aspirations: think long-term, when will you retire, what will that role be?
Have You Taken A Deeper Dive: think through the details about how to move from the current situation to the long-term goal
