HBA OLD EUROPE PRESENTS

Current Trends in Digitalization: What is Pharma Learning from Other Industries

From storing 180 KB on a floppy disk to handling massive amounts of data using algorithms that mimic neurons of the human brain, the world of computer science has made an enormous progress in the last years.

On every channel, buzzwords such as “artificial intelligence”, “machine learning”, “3D-printing” and “internet of things” are appearing, showing the impact of digitalization on all industries. Yes, also in healthcare. Learn in which fields of your work the current trends in digitalization can already support you today – with strategic work or data crunching, in the manufacturing and supply chain and even in the support of patients on their journey.

The event “Current Trends in Digitalization – What Can Pharma Learn from Other Industries” will start with two inspiring keynote speakers of the very edge of innovation - Rebecca Joslin, global patient products strategy and patient engagement, Shire, and Stephanie Bova, digital accelerator head for Europe and Canada, Takeda. Together they will explain how the trending digital technologies are already finding or will find their place in the pharmaceutical industry.

The program will continue with an introduction to three hot digital topics:
• Digital Innovation in Manufacturing and Supply Chain, by Susan Tillmann, Takeda
• Artificial Intelligence, Sweet Dreams or Nightmares, by Peter van der Putten, Pegasystems AG
• Role of Digital Technologies in the Patient Journey: Opportunities and Hurdles in the Healthcare Market Reality, by Gwenaelle de Sabran, Orange Healthcare

These introductions will be followed by three parallel 30-minutes deep dive workshops during which these industry experts will lead participants through their work field and the technologies involved. This will give you an opportunity to discuss concrete issues and collect actionable insights to bring back to your daily work.

When you register to the event please make sure you select the topic of the workshop you wish to attend. After the workshop, you will have time to share your experiences and network with the other attendees at an apéro.
