HBA Amsterdam Leadership Academy Part 2 - Influence without authority
In healthcare and life sciences, a lot of the most important work happens across boundaries: between departments, countries, partners and disciplines. Getting things done often depends on people who don't report to you. Expertise alone won't get you their buy-in. You also need credibility, trust, and the ability to
bring others along.
.
Many professionals run cross-functional projects, push for change or carry responsibility without the formal authority to match. In those situations, it's easy to feel unheard, overlooked or stuck in a stalemate.
.
This session helps participants build influence that doesn't depend on a title. We'll look at where your influence already comes from, how to understand and mobilize the people around you, and how your presence, voice and story shape whether others follow. That includes online.
.
Session objectives
After this 1 hour online workshop, participants will:
-See where they already have influence, and where they can add value
-Map their champions, sponsors and stakeholders; no-go areas
-Practice listening to understand, and treat resistance as information rather than rejection
-Strengthen their presence on screen through posture, voice and pauses
-Use a simple story structure to make their case and bring others along
-Leave with one concrete next step for a real situation of their own
