HBA EUROPE REGION AND HBA FRANKFURT PRESENTS

Big Data in Healthcare

Over the last years, big data became one of the most heard buzzwords across industries, including healthcare. Traditionally, huge amount of data generated by the healthcare industry was stored as hard copy, which then supported a wide range of healthcare and medical functions. However, such information is becoming increasingly digitized, creating large sets of data, which are too complex to be understood by traditional means of data processing.

The wide diversity of big data and the pace at which it is managed makes it overwhelming. It includes clinical data from clinical decision support systems (physicians written notes and prescriptions, medical imaging, laboratory, pharmacy, insurance, and other administrative data); patient data in electronic patient records; machine generated/sensor data (such as from wearables monitoring vital signs); social media posts, web pages; and less patient-specific information, including news feeds, articles in medical journals etc.

Latest healthcare trends, especially shift towards value based care, have encouraged the industry to start building programs and analytical capabilities to constructively evaluate these comprehensive datasets and uncover patterns and trends. These can in turn drive better outcomes for the patients and provide meaningful business insights.

Don’t miss this great opportunity to join HBA Frankfurt for an interactive webinar on ‘Big Data in Healthcare’!

Our two industry experts – Thomas D'Hooghe (Merck KGaA) & Susanne van der Beck (IQVIA) will share their knowledge and insights on why big data is so important in healthcare, what challenges are arising and what are the opportunities on the horizon.
