HBA CHICAGO-NORTHERN SUBURBS PRESENTS

HBA 45 in 45

The HBA Northern Chicago Suburb Chapter is honored to have Peggy Dougherty-Marcus, one of the five HBA co-founders, join us on Thursday, 23 March 2023. HBA celebrated 45 years in 2022 and to commemorate this milestone, Peggy has graciously offered to share with us some of the eye-opening truths, struggles, and triumphs that she and the co-founders of the organization faced as they embarked on an initial journey of mutual support for women in the industry in 1976. The roadblocks faced by these women were though-provoking and we will spend 45minutes learning from Peggy what it felt like to face the headwinds that they did. The work that these women did was nothing short of amazing and Peggy is here to spare no details! What started as informal meetings soon led to the establishment of the HBA, founded in 1977, and now recognized as a powerhouse for DEI and gender parity.
