Career Changes – Networking, Resumes, Interviewing
This learning event is to support professionals navigating career changes—whether due to layoffs, personal goals, or growth opportunities. The event will discuss how to approach career transitions with intention, covering the difference between proactive and reactive job changes, setting clear goals, and understanding compensation dynamics and to advocate and close potential gender pay gaps. We will dive into networking—both online and offline, learn how to strategically use LinkedIn for your job search, tap into internal networks, and effectively engage with HR professionals and recruiters to uncover new opportunities.
Participants will come away with resume and cover letter best practices, including how AI is shaping the hiring process. Learn resume formatting for maximum impact, create strong summaries, highlight key skills, and address common concerns like gaps or short-term roles. Emphasis will be on tailoring your resume to highlight transferable skills, measurable results, and relevant industry experience.
Interview preparation with a focus on behavioral-based interviewing using the STAR method and address how to confidently speak about career gaps or layoffs, position your experience positively, and prepare for compensation discussions. And finally, guidance on follow-up emails and staying engaged.
Session will wrap up with an open Q&A, offering participants the chance to get personalized advice and further clarify strategies for navigating a career change with confidence.
